Choosing the Right Size of Wood Urn.

A Guide by The Legacy Urn Company

When it comes to selecting an urn to honour a loved one's memory, one important consideration is size. The right-sized urn not only safeguards the ashes but also pays tribute to the individual's legacy. At The Legacy Urn Company, we understand the significance of choosing the proper size urn. In this blog post, we'll guide you through the considerations and help you make an informed decision.

Understanding Capacity:

The first step in choosing the right-sized urn is to understand the capacity you'll need. Urns come in various sizes to accommodate different amounts of ashes, which are typically measured in cubic inches. A general rule of thumb is that one pound of a person's weight is equivalent to one cubic inch of ashes.

For example, if your loved one weighed 160 pounds, you would need an urn with a capacity of approximately 160 cubic inches to hold all the ashes. However, it's always a good idea to round up slightly to ensure there's enough room.

All of The Legacy Urn Company's Urns have a capacity of 270 pounds.
